To add a layer in Photoshop, go to the Layers panel and click on the “Create a new layer” icon.

There could be a few reasons why you can’t add a new layer in Photoshop. In the Layers panel, click on the layer you want to select.

You can’t add layers in Photoshop Express.

To create a new layer in Photopea, click on the “Layers” tab in the sidebar on the left, then click on the “Create New Layer” button at the bottom of the Layers panel.
Ctrl J is the shortcut for the “Duplicate Layer” command in Photoshop. This command creates a copy of the selected layer, which can then be edited independently of the original layer.
To copy and paste a layer in Photoshop, select the layer you want to copy and paste, then press Ctrl+J (Windows) or Cmd+J (macOS).
