How to Make a Copyright Symbol on a Windows PC
The quickest way to make a copyright symbol is to use the Alt Code.
Place the cursor where you’d like to insert the copyright symbol. Press and hold the Alt key and then press “0169” using the numeric keypad. Once you release the Alt key, the copyright symbol will be inserted.
Inserting a Copyright Symbol Without a Numeric Keypad
If your Windows PC doesn’t have a numeric keypad, you can use the emoji keyboard instead. Press Windows+. to open the emoji keyboard.
Then, type “copyright” in the search box and click the copyright emoji to insert it.

How to Type a Copyright Symbol on a Mac
On Mac, you can use a keyboard shortcut that doesn’t require a special numeric keypad.
First, place the cursor where you want to insert the copyright symbol. Next, press the Option+G keys on your keyboard.
You can also use the emoji keyboard to insert the copyright symbol. Press Control+Command+Space to open the emoji keyboard. Then, click the “Next” icon (two right arrows) in the menu bar at the bottom.
In the Letterlike Symbols group, click the copyright symbol at the top to select it.
The copyright symbol is now inserted into your document.
You can also insert many other symbols via keyboard shortcut or the emoji keyboard, such as the trademark or registered symbol.
